Day 043 Jordan : Jerash

We slept in a bit in the morning and with this being designated a rest day, pottered around for a couple of hours catching up on washing, repairs and cleaning.  We needed some groceries so instead of packing Sully up, we got the hotel to call a taxi for us to take us into town.  Moeen came to collect us and what a treasure he turned out to be.  If you're ever in the area and want an English speaking guide and taxi for a reasonable price, he's your man.  You can contact him on +962 795660651 or email him in advance at omar_jovac@yahoo.com.  So for JD3.5 he'll take you into town, point out the good places and take you back to the hotel.  For JD15 he'll take you around to the Jerash sights (as well as some only he knows!), drop you off for a recommended lunch and pick you up to take you back to the Olive Branch. For JD50 he'll take you on a trip of the north of Jordan around Ajloun Castle, Mar Elias, Umm Qais, lunch and back via Irbid stopping off for water, drinks and snacks during the day.

We decided that after our experience in Syria, we were going to treat ourselves so we booked Moeen for the following day (Wednesday) to do Jerash and Thursday for the north trip and off we went to town.  It wasn't a direct trip into town as he stopped to show us a bit of the wall that surrounds Jerash with a view of the roman citya_SG101907 .  Then it was off to town for groceries and a spot of lunch.
